Lion’s Tail is a bold, fast-growing shrub admired for its dramatic whorls of bright orange, tubular flowers that resemble a lion’s mane. Blooming from late spring through fall, the showy blossoms rise above deep green foliage and attract hummingbirds, bees, and butterflies. Native to South Africa, this drought-tolerant plant adds height, texture, and vibrant color to Mediterranean, pollinator, and low-water landscapes. Its upright, architectural form makes it an excellent focal plant in borders, mass plantings, and wildlife-friendly gardens.

Choose a full sun location with well-draining soil. Dig a hole twice as wide as the root ball and plant at the same depth it was growing in its container.
